Mother was founded in London in 1996 by a group of creative, free-thinking individuals sitting around a kitchen table eating lunch. Today, Mother is a fiercely independent global creative agency with over 500 like-minded people in its family and offices across London, New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai and Berlin. All with kitchen tables in them.

In February 2023, I was onboarded as a independent contractor by Mother USA as their Ventures Associate. I was the first employee to be hired by Mother Ventures, the investment arm of Mother. I continue to support Mother in this capacity, as a part-time, independent contractor.

As the Ventures Associate, I am responsible for all projects that fall outside of the purview of our core advertising business. This included business development opportunities, partnerships, and venture capital investments in consumer companies. I report directly to the chief-executive team, including the CEO, CFO, COO, and CSO.

I participate in all aspects of investment transactions including: sourcing, analysis, financial modeling, due diligence, structuring, negotiation and documentation.

My role involves:

• Relationship management with founders and other key external stakeholders.

• Formulating and presenting investment cases to our investment committee

• Developing presentation materials for internal and external audiences for both Mother and the Mother Ventures portfolio companies

• Leadership in analysis of specific investment opportunities and sectors

• Assisting in the coordination and execution of strategic processes and portfolio analysis

• Supporting ad-hoc projects related to Mother’s priorities and initiatives

• Deal sourcing, outreach and networking.
