RadicalMedia’s Business Development & Strategic Finance team approached us with the request to develop a report for RadicalMedia to evaluate a potential opportunity to create a content platform in the art space. Along with another consultant, I co-authored a 48-page white paper on the market potential for the launch of a fine art over-the-top platform.
For this report, I assessed the value of the global art economy, current market trends, commercial viability of popular art, corporate partnerships in fine art, age group and art preference differentiation, viability of an art-focused streaming service, and white space in the digital fine art market.
Report Abstract:
In the evolving media landscape of our century, how does visual art fit in? An aggregated central platform for the consumption of visual arts has not come to center stage as yet. Is this an open opportunity for the right business?
Project Summary:
Co-authored a 51-page analysis on the Global Art Market.
Conducted macroeconomic analysis of the total value of the global art economy. Analyzed the number of art bought and sold annually and revenue for museums, galleries, auction houses and art fairs. Looked at ancillary art industries, and compared the U.S. to other art economies.
Investigated scope of existing art content across TV, film, digital, and physical media. Evaluated the most popular, highest selling, and most prestigious artists today.
Analyzed corporate partnerships in art as well as the digital art space, including the art presence in social media.
Discussed white space in the art market today.
The report was shared directly with executive leadership.
